THORPE PARK SAY HYPERIA “NOT SUITABLE FOR VEGANS” IN APRIL FOOLS GAG

For this year’s April Fools' Day PR stunt Thorpe Park have erected a sign close to their record-breaking Hyperia rollercoaster saying it is not suitable for vegans.

The angle they are taking is that the ride is so fast that swallowing some small insects while on board is unavoidable with the warning stating “This ride may contain unexpected protein”. It’s the latest in a long tradition of April Fools gags from Uk theme parks, with a similar one from Thorpe Park last year stating that visitors could claim air miles from riding Hyperia, because it’s so tall you see.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach also bizarrely used Hyperia as part of their April Fools prank in 2024, announcing they were making the Big One taller to reclaim the record. Don’t you just love this time of year.

Both Thorpe Park and Blackpool Pleasure Beach have now reopened for the 2025 season. Hyperia had a couple of troublesome days on Friday and Saturday, with rumpours suggesting another lift hill issue, but all seems to be resolved now.
